It's nice to have very talented friends, especially one like Illustrator and Designer, Stephanie Wong. Spurred by boredom and a casual remark about 'one day, let's make a storybook for kids', an opportunity came to turn our ramblings into something real.
The Media Development Agency of Singapore had launched a new grant for First Time Illustrators and Writers for Children Storybooks and we pitched for it. We won $10,000 to publish a book.
Our book was designed with an accordian fold so kids could peer from leeeft to righhht and righhht to leeeft without lifting a finger to turn a page. A book for lazy children just like us. And if they were bored, they could colour and play with the activity cards.
Original Edition Box Set
By sheer luck, our book was transformed into a 3-minute animation piece for a children's television programme, Tales Alive. Developed by Peach Blossom Media, it aired on Singapore's free-to-air children's channel, OKTO.
Re-formatted in and out. A sneaky peak inside. Available at all good bookstores in Singapore, epigrambooks.sg and amazon.
